League of Northern Democrats react to anti-Northern Nigerian video clip on social media

The League of Northern Democrats (LND) has condemned in strongest terms the content of a video clip circulating on the social media alleging that the Northerners are plotting to destroy the southeastern part of the country.
Making its position public through a press statement signed and issued by the Spokesman of the group, Dr.Ladan Salihu Monday, described the plot as “misguided attempt to spread dangerous, divisive and Igbo-centric propaganda, in an AI-generated video clip that reeks of misinformation and baseless allegations”.
It observed with dismay that the clip is not a genuine video report using the face of Patrick-bet of Valuetainment with an AI-based voice aimed to defame the north in a bad light and to foster hatred, stoking ethnic tensions and undermining the very foundation of Nigerian unity.
According to the statement, the League of Northern Democrats stands united in defense of the North and of Nigerian unity, noting that the video clip is nothing more than a misguided attempt by unscrupulous individuals to sow seeds of discord between the North and the Southeast.
“It is filled with falsehoods and dangerous rhetoric aimed at undermining our collective efforts to build a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
“This is unacceptable to all right thinking people, especially in the North. Hence LND came up with this response, trying to systematically dismantle every false claim made in the video clip, demonstrating why it holds no merit and showcasing how the North has continually sacrificed for the wellbeing of Nigeria.”
