Learning: FCT NANS honours SEB boss

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has honoured chairman, FCT Secondary Education Board, Dr. Moroof Akinwande, with a certificate of excellence, for enhancing teaching and learning in the Territory.

Presenting the award, during a courtesy visit to the Board, recently, the FCT NANS Chairman, Comrade Adediwura Adeshina, said, the award was in recognition of the Board’s improved service delivery in the FCT  Schools, which has enhanced  teaching and learning in the schools.

Adeshina explained that opinion polls conducted in various senior secondary schools at different time by the association revealed improved education service and efficiency in the schools noting that, there are adequate teachers deployed with appropriate discipline to teach.

The students’ leader also noted that FCT schools rarely go on strike which has further added value to the Education Secretariat leadership.  He commended the open door policy operated by the Chairman and hope the Board will continue to sustain this development.

Responding, the Chairman of the Board, Hon (Dr.) Moroof Akinwande,  said, he believes in good name and dignity in labour adding that, the development and success recorded in the education sector is as a result of the purposeful leadership provided by the FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed and minister of State, Oloye Olajumoke Akinloye.

  Akinwande thanked the students for the recognition, adding that, such will further challenged him to work harder and impact positively to the system, just as he reiterates the Board’s commitment to continue working relentlessly towards achieving its mandates in FCT.

He maintained that without knowledge, no development will take place, and if there is no development, there is no hope and to keep hope alive, the youths must continue to work hard, remain focus and be agent of peace as well as shun violence in every form.
