Kaduna state Governor, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero have yesterday told the Northerners to forget politics and work towards rebuilding it economy which is dwindling on daily basis.
This was as he appealed to the Northern elders to bury their differences and come together with a view to finding a lasting solution to the problems bedeviling the region.
Governor Yero stated this yesterday, at the commissioning ceremony of the Kaduna Ssate Secretariat of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), in Kaduna.
He said if the North does not put its house together and come together to bury it differences it will not forge ahead.
According to him, “To me, what I think is the most important that needs to be looked at is the economy of the North. The economy of the North is at zero percent. Those of us in financial sector know we are not going anywhere.
“Another sure way of building vibrant North is by providing our children with opportunities to acquire quality education. In Kaduna State, we have place Education as the second on our list of priority,” Governor Yero however stated.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of ACF Kaduna State Chapter, Alhaji Ramalan Yero reiterated that the core objective of the ACF is to foster, promote, defend and strengthen Northern unity and interest of its people in the context of one indivisible Nigeria and to contribute in safeguarding its territorial integrity.
