Amid distinguished guests, including the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency Engr. A. A. Sule, and former Governor Senator Tanko Al-makura, Lincoln University College, Malaysia, in affiliation with Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), celebrated the tenure of the outgoing NSUK Vice Chancellor, Prof. Suleiman Bala Muhammed.

This celebration marked a pivotal moment in recognition of Prof. Muhammed’s exceptional leadership and dedication.

Under Prof. Muhammed’s visionary leadership, with the approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC), ten full-time undergraduate programs were established at NSUK’s Main Campus under the Transnational Education (TNE) mode.

These programs, including B.Sc. Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Biomedical Science, Biotechnology, Nursing, Psychology, Accounting, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, and Mass Communication, signify a significant step forward in enhancing educational opportunities.

The CEO of Lincoln Nigeria, Dr. Murtadho Alao, representing Lincoln University Malaysia’s President and Founder, Prof. Bhaumik Amiya, presented Prof. Muhammed with the prestigious “Global Education and Visionary Leadership Award” on March 28, 2023.

This award acknowledges Prof. Muhammed’s instrumental role in fostering global education initiatives at NSUK and facilitating the establishment of Lincoln University Malaysia as the first foreign teaching institution approved by the NUC under the TNE policy.

In recognition of Prof. Muhammed’s outstanding contributions, Lincoln University Malaysia proudly announced the award of Full Scholarships worth Ninety Million Naira (N90,000,000.00) to 30 deserving students.

This transformative initiative underscores Prof. Muhammed’s commitment to nurturing academic excellence and accessibility for Nigerian students.

Furthermore, Murtadho stated that the establishment of Lincoln University NSUK Keffi campus aims to create accessibility to quality education through scholarships and affordable tuition fees.

The NUC’s TNE policy, in alignment with the federal government’s approval, aims to enhance access to tertiary education enrollment, quality, research development, employment opportunities, and foreign direct investments.

Lincoln University Malaysia’s approval to run academic activities under the TNE program, confirmed by the NUC, reflects a significant milestone in advancing educational partnerships.

Nasarawa State University bid farewell to Prof. Suleiman Bala Muhammed as he concluded his tenure as Vice Chancellor, marking a momentous occasion celebrated by various institutes and institutions aligned with his visionary leadership.

Through the visionary leadership of Prof. Suleiman Bala Muhammed and the collaborative efforts of Nasarawa State University and Lincoln University Malaysia, a new era of educational excellence and opportunity emerges, setting a precedent for transformative change in Nigeria’s educational landscape.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) affirmed the status of Lincoln University Malaysia, confirming its approval to conduct academic activities under the Transnational Education Programme.

This endorsement underscores the commitment to expanding educational access and quality through innovative partnerships. (the last paragraph is subject to response from the NUC)

Meanwhile, the university has secured the approval of the national university commission,NUC to commence degree programmes in Nursing.

The Vice-Chancellor is please invited to recall that a re-visit resource veritication was carried out to the proposed academie undergraduate programme in Lincolo University College in affiliation with Nasarawa State University, Keffi, with a view to assessing the human and material resources available for their establishrnent.

“I am directed to inform the Vice-Chancello aproved the establishment of the full time mode of B.NSc.Nursing undergraduate program ,to run in the main campus of the university with effect from 2023/2024 academic session.

I am to add that the approval does not cover the part-time mode of delivery of the programmes.

“The programme shall bear only the approved title and nomenclature and any change will require the approval of the Commision. The University is enjoined to provide adequate human and material resources for the development and growth of the approved programme”Ag. Executive Secretary,”Abubakar M. Girei said in a letter obtained by Peoples Daily.
