As the February 2023 presidential election draws closer, the candidate of the Labour Party, (LP) Mr. Peter Obi, has assured Nigerians that his administration will secure and unite the nation if elected into office.
Obi gave the assurance on Wednesday during his presidential campaign flag-off at the popular Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.
He said the country is divided across religious, ethnic and tribal differences.
While lamenting over the current status of Nigeria as a nation, Obi noted that development cannot thrive in a country where insecurity is the order of the day, promising to bring back a new Nigeria where every citizen will be proud to belong.
The LP presidential candidate lamented that presently, Nigerians are ashamed to identify themselves as Nigerians because of the many challenges the country is faced with.
He stressed that he and his Vice presidential candidates, Baba Datti Ahmed will not give the Nigerians story like other politicians.
He also stressed that “Kaduna State represented productivity in the North. It represented what was good in Nigeria. And that is what we want to bring back. We are tired of hearing stories. We will secure and unite Nigeria. Security will come back again.”
Obi also disclosed that the insecurity in the country is not because the bandits are more formidable than the government, but because of bad leadership and lack of will to end the menace.
