The Federal Government has arraigned Muhammad Mahdi for allegedly defaming the character of the Katsina State Governor, Bello Aminu Masari, his Government and the State Secretary to the Government, Mustapha Inuwa and inciting public against them.
Mahdi was arraigned on a six-count charges of alleged criminal defamation of the characters of Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, his Government and the State Secretary to the Government, Mustapha Inuwa at the Federal High Court, Kano.
Mahdi, who is the owner of Dialogue Global Limited, however pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.
The Prosecution Counsel in the case, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Simon Lough, while presenting the charges before the court, accused Mahdi of alleged violation of bail conditions for further publishing 32 new defamation episodes on March to June 28, 2021, against Governor Masari on the internet.
The case, with tittle, “FG vs Muhammad Mahdi and Dialogue Global Ltd”, has counted six charges accusing Mahdi of defaming characters of Gov. Masari by accusing him of squandering N62 billion from Katsina Treasury Funds.
