Mai Kaltungo urged farmers to preserve farm produce

The Mai Kaltungo, Engineer Saleh Mohammed Umar has advised farmers to guard and preserve their farm produce for use ahead of the next planting season/harvest.
He gave the advice at the end of annual Kaltungo carnival, a socio cultural activities to promote unity and brotherhood in his domain.
He said “We are farmers, prices of foodstuff are soaring in the markets, so we are calling on our farmers not to take advantage of the commodity prices hike in the quest for money to sell all their produce before the next season”.
He explained that if they mistakenly take that advantage to misuse the produce, they would eventually run into food scarcity.
Mai Kaltungo, who is the deputy chairman, Gombe State Council of Emirs and Chiefs, also urged the people of Gombe to continue to live in peace while promoting issues that would strengthen unity in the state and the country at large.
