The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has replied the World Soccer Ruling Body, FIFA, explaining the process leading to convocation of the Executive Committee meeting that suspended its President, Aminu Maigari.

Following a letter from the NFF that Maigari had been suspended and Mike Umeh, appointed as Acting President, FIFA had sought for detail explanation on the process that led to the suspension with a view to ascertaining that NFF Statutes were followed.

The spokesperson for the NFF, Ademola Olajire, confirmed Saturday that the General Secretary, Musa Amadu, had replied FIFA accordingly.

He spoke on a Nigeria Info FM Sports Programme monitored by our correspondent in Abuja.

The NFF Executive Committee had recently suspended Aminu Maigari, by eight votes to four, anchoring it on gross misconduct.

Olajire, reiterated that the NFF Statues were followed in convoking the Executive Committee meeting, adding that there was no counter motion when motion for Maigari’s suspension was moved and seconded.

He also recalled that ousted President Maigari summoned the meeting and presided over it before the table was turned against him.

The Football House spokesperson therefore, assured Nigerians that the latest letter from FIFA does not suggest that there is an impending ban.
