From Matthew Aramunde, Lagos

Golden girl ,Chioma Ajunwa  a Chief Superintendent of Police who until her recent deployment this morning was the Divisional Police Officer, Meiran division is among divisional Police officers redeployed in what appeared to be a major shakeup within the Lagos State Police Command.

The move is seen by stakeholders as the Police boss promise when he resumed months ago to rejuvenate and reinvigorate his men in the fight to rid the metropolis of crime and criminality

The posture which is a departure from known norms saw more women given field posting even as career officers were also deployed to do field assignments.

As the news filtered around, there were noticeable relaxation from some men and officers in the Division of the deployed officers who were seen as toughies while in other Divisions there were expressions of sadness and regret for the departing “caring officers”.

A police source who craved anonymity, however posited that the development is an occurrence that every police officer should at all times be prepared for  most especially when it becomes pertinent that is to purposely  strategize the command to ensure utmost security in Lagos. However others feel the manner of the posting brought about by unconventional redeployment of career officers to the field, cannot be devoid of some political undertone most especially as the 2015 general election is fast approaching.
