Makarfi’s houses were not burnt, says LG boss

Date:

Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi 2From Mohammad Ibrahim, Kaduna.

Chairman, Makarfi local government area of Kaduna state, Alhaji Abdu Bala Gangara yesterday debunked rumours making round across the state that youths in Makarfi attacked Senator Makarfi and burnt down his houses in Kaduna and Makarfi respectively.

Gangara described the rumor-peddlers as ” political detractors of the Senator”, saying such rumour could ignite crisis in the area and the state.

The chairman disclosed this while addressing newsmen at Makarfi local government secretariat in the state.

According to him, the rumour is baseless and unfounded, particularly that there was no time in the history of Makarfi local government that any group of people attacked any politician , so there is no basis to attack Senator Makarfi’s house.

He explained further that some politicians indeed have no conscience inspreading such a baseless lie and rumor aimed at tarnishing the good work the distinguished Senator has done for his people and Kaduna people in general.

He wondered why such a baseless rumor is peddled at this crucial time that politicians are gearing up for different elective positions.

While warning the rumour peddlers to desist from such act, the Council boss noted that Senator Makarfi should be last person to be attacked in the area.

“If the former Governor was able to provide people with accessible roads to all rural areas in the state, potable water, health care delivery centres, qualitative schools, among others, why should such a person be a subject of attack? “It is strange to me why unscrupulous politicians have failed to play politics with maturity without having to stain images of their competitors”, he said.
