The Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organization MDPCO has said that it is grief-stricken over the tragic death of 32 compatriots in the ATR-42 military aircraft crash near Igbokoda Naval base in Ondo State on Monday.

The MDPCO said this in a statement on Tuesday by its Director of Strategic Communications, Richard Ihediwa in Abuja.

This APM presidential campaign organization noted with sadness that the crash which claimed the lives of “our gallant military personnel and some civilians comes as yet another depressing commentary on the spate of calamities that continue to befall our nation and particularly the military, under the inept and rudderless administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”.

Continuing the MDPCO said, “Nigerians will recall how in August 2023, a Nigeria Airforce helicopter crashed in Shiroro, Niger State during a casualty evacuation mission of wounded troops.

“The crash of military aircrafts in Nigeria under the Tinubu administration is a serious national issue that again raises questions on the subjects of equipping as well as welfare of our military and other security agencies under this administration, despite the enormous resources at its disposal.

“Indeed, given the resources available, our military ought to be among the best equipped and remunerated across the world.

“In any event, the MDPCO salutes the patriotism, professionalism, gallantry and sacrifice of our military and other men and women in uniform who continue to give their all for the security of our nation despite the challenges they face under the incompetent APC administration”, it said..

The MDPCO assured Nigerians that under a Makinde-Daura RESET Nigeria Presidency, equipping, training and wellbeing of the military and other security agencies will be a top priority of government.

“While standing with the military and families of the victims of the ATR-42 military aircraft crash at this moment of grief, the MDPCO demands a wide-ranging investigation into the cause of the tragic incident” it said.

The MDPCO called on Nigerians to continue to pray for the nation and particularly the military.

The Campaign Council thus charged citizens to remain unwavering in their determination to use their votes to end the misrule of the Tinubu administration by voting in Engr. Seyi Makinde on the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) to RESET Nigeria to a nation that works for the good of all.
