A 55-year-old man, has asked Edo State police command to intervene into the disputed parcel of land between him and the traditional ruler of Ewatto, in Esan-North East local government area of Edo State, His Royal Highness, Sylvanus Ikhumen.
In a petition to the Edo state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Funso Adebanjo, signed by Osimhen’s lawyer, Mr. Olayiwola Afolabi, the petitioner, Osahon Ileh Osimhen who claimed he inherited the land from his late father who was a high chief in the palace of the traditional ruler.
He averred that trouble started when he brought workmen to fence the piece of land and complete the house his younger brother was building on a part of the land.
The petitioner also alleged that he was beaten up by suspected thugs and warned to relinquish ownership of the said property.
He said troubled started last week when he went to supervise workmen that were constructing perimeter fence round the family plot of land inherited from their late father.
He said no sooner had he gone to the plot of land than strange-looking but fierce men appeared from nowhere and asked the workers to stop work if they want to live to see the next day.
