Man docked for attempting to steal

Date:

The police on Friday arraigned one Alexander Aliyu, 39, of no fixed address, in a Wuse Zone 2 Senior Magistrates’ Court on one count-charge of attempted theft.

The police prosecutor, Cpl Francis Tanko, told the court that on June 13, one Ifundu Izuchukwu of unique world garden, Wuse, reported the case at the Wuse police station.

He alleged that the accused entered the garden with the intention to commit theft before he was arrested.

Tanko said that the accused searched and scattered the place and could not give satisfactory account of what he was doing there during police investigation.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the Penal Code.

He adjourned the matter until September 9 for hearing (NAN).
