From Femi Oyelola, Kaduna

A lone protester yesterday stormed the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Kaduna State Secretariat condemning the killings of men and officers of Nigeria Police Force especially in the South-East.
The lone protester who identified himself as Alhaji Yahaya Ibrahim, president of National Association for Scrap, Articians and Crafts, said the policemen who go about their lawful duty to protect lives and property of the citizens are now subjects of targets by some gruesome elements.
Alhaji Ibrahim who wore an attire with inscription such as, “Stop killing the police, they are human beings and citizens of Nigeria like you”, and “Enough is Enough,” it is disheartening for anybody to think of killing a man detailed to protect him.
According to him, police patrol vehicles, offices and men have become subject of attacks by the so-called gunmen.
He added that anybody who thinks the police are not doing enough and killing them is the answer should try anarchy.
“If this I’d not checked especially in the southeast, Nigerians would be forced to defend the policemen because they are fathers, husbands and wives,” he said.
He appealed to President Muhammad Buhari to release more funding to the police and implement the Sunday Adewusi’s recommendations.
