Masari , 8 others bag 2017 Zik award

Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina state, along with eight others have been named as the winner of the prestigious Zik Leadership Award for 2017.
A statement signed and made available to newsmen by Governor Masari’s spokesman, Alhaji Abdu Labaran Malumfashi said the governor and his Rivers state counterpart, Barrister Nyson Wike bagged the Good Governance category of the award.
With the award, the statement added that he now joins the eminent company of former South African President, Nelson Mandela and former Ghana President, Jerry Rawlings, among other former African leaders who had won the award.
Announcing the names of the winners in Lagos, the Chairman of the Award Committee, Professor Pat Utomi said the awardees were selected after a thorough and rigorous scrutiny of nominees, in an exercise which reflects the tradition of excellence with which the Annual Zik Award has come to be associated and identified with since it was established 24 years ago.
It said the date for the formal presentation of the awards will be announced in due course.
