Masari alleges plot by PDP to rig election

The Director- General of the Masari Campaign Organization, Alhaji Muntari Lawal has raised alarm over the alleged plot by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State to use lecturers to rig the forthcoming election in the state.

The allegation which was contained in a press release signed and made available to newsmen in Katsina further alleged that the PDP was planning to hijack the lecturers to be used for the election to rig it.

He added “the plan is to recruit the staff of FCE, Polytechnic and Universities to serve as returning officers and hijack them into government property where they would doctor results from wards and local government polling units”.

Similarly, the group alleged that they are aware of the desperate efforts of the PDP at plotting to use the SURE-P Programme beneficiaries to further consolidate their rigging plot in addition to buying voters cards.

“Equally worrisome is the PDP’s undisguised intention to compromise local government electoral officers to also temper on official election documents by committing forgeries or out rightly issue fresh result” he stressed.

He therefore called on the lecturers involved not to participate in such a dastardly act of subverting democratic choices of the people of Katsina State.

In a swift response, the Public Relations Officer of the PDP, Alhaji Salisu Ali Sukuntuni has dismissed the allegation as baseless and the ranting of a party that would lose election in the state.
