Masari signs 2022 appropriation bill in to law

Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has signed the 2022 budget of over N323.2 billion into law.

It would be recalled that last month the Governor presented a budget estimate of over N340.9 billion before the State House of Assembly which subsequently reviewed it downward by N17 billion.

Speaking shortly after signing the document, the Governor explained that, the budget will focus on the completion of all ongoing project across the state.

He expressed appreciation to the lawmakers for the speedy passage of the budget to enable its implementation cycle to run from January to December.

Masari however urged the lawmakers to make valuable inputs to governance by carrying out their oversight functions of ministries, departments and agencies in the state. 

Earlier, the Speaker, Alhaji Tasi’u Maigari said the lawmakers received input from civil society organisations, their constituents and members of the public before passing the budget.

He however explained that, the downward review of the budget estimates was as a result of a duplication detected.
