Mastercard, WFP, AfDB laaunched solar power for irrigation farming in Yobe

The United Nations World Food Program (WFP), in partnership with African Development Bank (AfDB) and Mastercard Foundation, launched solar power plant in Mamodo in Potiskum local government area of Yobe state.

The project is create employment for young people.

Speaking to journalists in Mamudo, Potiskum local government area of Yobe state, the Director General of the African Development Bank in Nigeria, Mr. Abdul Kamar, said the climate change is a critical issue that needs to be addressed globally.

He said they are working to deliver a humanitarian solutions to the ongoing conflict in the northeast through public private sector partnership.
