The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has felicitated with Muslims in Zamfara State and across Nigeria on the occasion of the 1448 AH Eid-el-Maulud celebration.
Matawalle, through the Zamfara State Matawalle Political Movement (MPM), urged Muslims to reflect on the teachings and virtues of Prophet Muhammad, particularly his emphasis on peace, unity, love and peaceful coexistence.
The message was contained in a statement issued by the movement’s spokesperson, Yusuf Idris Gusau.
According to the statement, the Maulud celebration provides an opportunity for Muslims to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings and apply them to all aspects of their lives.
Matawalle also called on Muslims to use the occasion to pray for lasting peace and stability in Zamfara State and Nigeria.
He noted that the celebration came at a critical period as the country prepares for the 2027 general elections, urging Nigerians to pray for peaceful and credible elections.
He appealed to Muslims and other Nigerians to emulate the Prophet’s virtues while seeking divine guidance and protection throughout the election season.
“Let us use the Maulud teachings and prayer sessions to supplicate Allah for the return of peace in our dear state and Nigeria at large,” the statement quoted Matawalle as saying.
He prayed that the Maulud celebration would bring peace, unity and blessings to Muslims and the country.
