The Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Kaduna Electric, Engineer Garba Haruna, has commended the hard work and commitment to duty of the staff of the Company and Nigerian workers in general.
A statement by the Head, Corporate Communications of the Company, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, yesterday said the managing director made the commendation in his message on the occasion of this year’s Workers Day celebrations.
Engr. Garba described the workers day celebrations as a recognition of the importance and relevance of labour in the socio-economic development of any nation.
“Permit me to place on record, the resounding appreciation of the Board of Directors and Management for your enormous contributions to the modest success recorded in the Company in the last four years. As you join the world-wide labour movement in celebrating this year’s workers day, kindly accept our felicitations and best wishes”, he said.
Engr. Garba Haruna enjoined the workers to remain committed to the impressive objective of the Company. He assured the workers of the Management’s commitment to their welfare, promising that the recently unveiled new organisational structure of the Company will be fully operational in due course.
He also expressed delight at the signing of the employee Conditions of Service with the two in-house unions – Senior Staff Association and Allied Companies (SSAEAC) and National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) this year and reiterated his commitment to ensuring that it is implemented to move the company forward.
He also commended the support of the two unions in facilitating a harmonious and cordial working relationship with the management of Kaduna Electric and prayed for it to continue for the betterment of all.
