To promote transparency and accountability in infrastructure delivery, stakeholders in Kaduna State have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing collaboration among civil society, the media, the government, and the private sector through the CoST Infrastructure Transparency Initiative.

During the event, Tara Jeremiah, the CoST Manager in Kaduna, emphasized the vital role of partnerships between civil society and the media in establishing a robust social accountability framework that improves service delivery, particularly at the grassroots level.

“The purpose of this engagement is to enhance collaboration between civil society and the media, creating a strong social accountability platform that improves infrastructure performance,” Jeremiah stated.

He pointed out the variations in contractor performance: while some deliver quality work, others do not. “The question is: how do we address this disparity? The answer lies in sustained collaboration and a commitment to transparency.”

Jeremiah noted that the CoST Initiative in Kaduna State enjoys significant political support, referencing the official launch of the program by the Governor of Kaduna State. He also discussed the operational structure of the Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG), which includes four representatives each from the government, civil society, and the private sector.
