The Middle Belt Reawakening Initiative (MBRI) said it has resolved to work together with other groups and community to achieve a common goal of presenting a candidate come 2015 general elections.
Rising from the executive meeting in Makurdi, the Benue state capital, the group regretted the abandonment of the middle belt region in the political activities of the nation.
The group in a statement issued shortly after the meeting quoted the National Coordinator, Comrade Vincent Akowe Ogenyi as saying that fear of being shortchanged after the 2015 election has given rise to the position taken by the group.
The group alleged that President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has entered into serious agreement with those he referred to as the core north to hand over to one of their own after his four years tenure in anticipation of his success in 2015 elections. The group further states that the information sent a feeling of betrayal to the Middle Belt group.
The MBRI resolved to pay a courtesy visit to Sam Nda Isaiah who is also interested in running for the 2015 general elections. They also assert that they have capable, brave and courageous hands to handle the position.
