The minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare arrived Rabat, the host city of the on-going 12th African Games, in Morocco
The minister who arrived Wednesday is already soaking the excitement of the performance of the Team Nigerian athletes as he was at some of the venues where Nigeria won medals.
He took to his twitter handle to share his excitement about the performances of the Nigerian team and the prospects of more laurels.
The minister confirmed his safe arrival to Rabat via a Twitter update he made at 1:37 pm saying “Arrived Rabbat Morocco less than an hour ago. Nigeria’s Gold haul stands at 20. A feat no doubt. Nigeria leads on the Athletics medal scoreboard. Team Nigeria continues to do Nigeria proud.
In a follow up tweet, he said “Team Nigeria, the athletes here continues to display uncanny skills and ruthless execution. Nigeria is in 4 finals in Badminton: Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s & Women’s Doubles.”
He is expected at the venues of some of the events where medal prospects are high.
The minister also visited the Falconets to motivate them before their final match against Cameroon yesterday. “This morning I visited the Nigerian female and male soccer teams in their camp at Apesa institute agronomique et veterinaire Hassan – II University Rabat. The energy level is high as the female team file out against Burkina Faso this evening,” he tweeted yesterday.
