Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Works , Yakubu Kofarmata has officially
launched the weekly Performance Management System( PMS) Team .
Kofarmata said the Performance management is a systematic process that enables organizations to achieve their strategic objectives by aligning individual and team performance with organizational goals.
The PermSec stated this during at a press conference yesterday in Abuja.
He said that the Federal Ministry of Works, launched the PSM as directed by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF).
He disclosed that Thursday of every week has been designated as PMS Day Service where employee performances will be reviewed, assessed, and improved upon by the Ministry’s ongoing tasks and projects.
According to Kofarmata, PMS has a plan which consists of six (6) major pillars which are :
“Goal Setting, Performance Monitoring, Evaluation, Development Planning, Benefits and Effective Implementation”.
He said total number of users on the ministry’s Dash Board stood at 962 staff with exactly 822 staff who signed their performance contract.
He added that the number of staff assigned supervisors is 457. “Appraisal had already commenced and still ongoing”.
He emphasized that, “This initiative is designed to ensure that we remain aligned with our goals, monitor our progress, and address any challenges promptly, thereby ensuring an improved performance.
“It is a continuous cycle of planning, monitoring, evaluating, and improving employee performance to drive business success”, he added.
Meanwhile, he assured of the Ministry’s commitment in the implementation of FCSSIP2021-2025, for the enhancement of performance, transparency, and accountability in governance for an improved service delivery.
