Moroccan Hakim Ziyech is set to be honoured by his country upon his arrival to the country this week.
After joining the league of African players who have won the prestigious UEFA champions league with Chelsea, the winger will be celebrated according to reports coming from Morocco.
“Hakim Ziyech will be honored with a passage bearing his name at the Mohammed VI Complex,” reports Maghrib Foot.
“There will also be a gala dinner for him with the rest of the Morocco squad. Should arrive in Rabat tuesday night.” He added.
The creative winger whose game was affected by injuries scored two goals in the tournament to help Chelsea get to the final and made a ten goal contributions for Chelsea.
Hakim Ziyech is only the second ever Moroccan player to win the Champions League after Hakim Achraf who won it at Real Madrid in 2018.
He joins other Africans like Micheal Essien of Ghana, John Obi Mikel of Nigeria, Edouard Mendy of Senegal, Didier Drogba and Solomon Kalou both of Cote D’voire to walk in that group of Champions League winners at Chelsea.
