Most of today’s parents are causes of their children waywardness, lack of humanity

In order to curb these vices in our developing society, there are lots of things parents are expected to do. The first of all is to ensure they machine a cordial relationship between their children whether in a monogamous or polygamous family. This will not only help such children to love and respect one another, but also give them the skill required to create positive friendship in the outside world.

Whatever you like, keep doing it. It is your life, you decide what you do with it”, this is the common statement heard from parents to their children in today’s world. In fact, the latter now have a say within a simple nuclear family than the former. It is so devastating to say that many parents nowadays care less about the welfares of their children.

According to the adage, which says and I quote: “Charity begins at home”. Parents act oblivious of the relationship between their offspring. Most siblings whether step-brothers and sisters or otherwise, they tends to fight more often than necessary and parent only turn deaf ears to their screams and clamors.

These has not only cause problem to such family but the society as a whole. These children, who lack the basic human relation skills, would turn out to act against to societal standards when they are out of their home. Matter-of-factly, it can be seen in many families today where parents no longer discipline their children nor caution them against social vices. It has even become a norm that they start to support such children on different bad activities claiming they are still young to be stopped or they will soon understand themselves. For the growth of any society, of course, both its young and old must live up to discipline in order to bring about a community of knowledgeable and wise individuals.

Parents today have failed in their responsibility to counsel their children. In fact, they should not be called parents as they are a great disgrace to parenthood. Probably, this might have its root from the way such parent were also brought up, but at least, seeing all that is going on in the society, there is need for urgent training and building up of young minds for the threats and hazards that society might offer.

Furthermore, not only in term of training but also provision of basic and social amenities for the children such as food, clothing, shelter, and many other primary responsibility of the parent. Giving fairness a chance, some parents are trying all they could to make both ends meet only that the present economy condition of the country is not favorable. Others, however, feel less concerned about the provision of all the aforementioned up to knowing their children whereabouts.

Now, come to think of it! A young boy or girl that was deprived of basic necessities such as food and clothing and wasn’t sheltered, let alone counselled on what is required of him/her in the society. If such young soul leave home for areas where corrupted individuals made their base, such boy/girl would have no option than joining the group of hooligans and bad eggs of the society whose goal is to indulge in activities that is of economic disadvantages to the society just for a penny. The main cause of this, as established is the nonchalant attitude of the parents towards their children.

On a final note, in order to curb these vices in our developing society, there are lots of things parents are expected to do. The first of all is to ensure they machine a cordial relationship between their children whether in a monogamous or polygamous family. This will not only help such children to love and respect one another, but also give them the skill required to create positive friendship in the outside world.

Also, parents should endeavor to provide the basic needs and requirements of their children even if not all. In cases where they could not afford a request at a time, they should endeavor to explain to such child the situation of thing and say soothing words to his/her hearing. With these and many others, our society would envelope individuals with positive mindsets and good; standard home training
