Motorsport development in Nigeria: ATCN Set to Train Motorsport Officials

Date:

In order to promote the development of motorsport in Nigeria, a non-governmental organisation, Automobile and Touring Club of Nigeria (ATCN) has planned to train motorsport officials and marshalls for free.
The NGO said the training is designed to improve motorsport development in Nigeria through professional officiating.
The president of ATCN, Mr. Ishaku Bamaiyi, explained that, “the training will enhance quality and professional officiating thereby improving the development of motorsport in Nigeria in line with the FIA standard and rules.
“Nigerians from 18 years and above who are interested in becoming professional motorsport officials or marshalls are encouraged to participate in the training”, he said.
According to Bamaiyi, the training exercise is free and it is conducted through online (zoom) thereby making it accessible and flexible for participants.
The two-day training event is scheduled for December 3rd and 4th, 2024, with day one (December 3rd) kicking off at 7pm-9pm (19:00hrs-21:00hrs), West African time, and day two (December 4th) at the same time and venue online (zoom) at Meeting ID: 924 8804 4233 and Passcode: Fa8MCa.
The ATCN president said that, “The practical (physical) sessions of the training programme will come up next year”.
ATCN is a member of the Federation International Del’Automobile (FIA), the global body of motorsport.
