Murder suspect, robbers arrested

The Lagos state Police Command has arrested one Aminat Akanni who is alleged to have murdered a four old boy

This was made known to the Press by the Commands Public Relation Officer Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Kenneth Nwosu.

According to the image maker,at about 2000hrs on October 3, one Moshood Mubo of No.305 Church Street, Lagos Island reported at Adeniji Adele Police Station that two of his children were missing since 1800hrs of same date when they went to buy biscuit along the street.

He gave the names of the missing children as Lateef Mubo aged 7yrs and Nosifat Mubo aged 4yrs.

However, Kenneth continued,six days later, at about 1030hrs, one Aminat Akanni, of No.20, Masallashi Street, Alakara Bus Stop, Orile, Lagos, who coincidentally is the second wife of the complainant, was arrested with one of the missing children, Lateef Mubo, aged 7yrs, at CMS Bus Stop and that when subjected to interrogation, she revealed that the corpse of the other child, Nosifat Mubo, aged 4yrs, was recovered at Orile Division in a sudden and unnatural death case. The suspect confessed to have drowned the child and dropped the corpse at Orile.

The case has been transferred to Orile Division for synchronization and further action.

In another development, Policemen attached to Okokomaiko Division, acting on information arrested two armed robbers that were operating at Doyin U-Turn Okokomaiko while other members of the gang escaped. After the gun duel, items recovered from the hoodlums are one axe, one locally made double barrel pistol, some wraps of weeds and motorcycle with Reg. No. KRD 863 QC.

Frantic efforts, according to the report, is on-going to arrest the fleeing members of the gang.

The case is under investigation at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, Yaba.

Similarly, policemen attached to Alakuko Division responded to a distress call of persons residing at No.11, Adeyemi Makinde Street Alakuko that robbers were operating at their residence. However when the Police arrived at the scene, the hoodlums on sighting the police took to their heels and abandoned one locally made pistol.

The Policemen are presently on the trail of the fleeing robbers, while the case is under investigation at Alakuko Division.
