The two communities believed that availability of these basic amenities within reach would foster their unity and peaceful coexistence, interrupted two years ago as a result of unrest at nearby Kujama town.

The Executive Director , Faithful Women and Youth for Peace, a Non-Governmental Organization, Pastor Mrs. Esther Success Solomon, who spoke on behalf of the Christians and Muslims in the area, said the community was in dire need of a school, saying though she has started nursery and primary 1,2 and 3, yet a lot still needed to be done.

“This community is in dire need of schools, because the available schools are rather too far, thereby making parents to avoid sending their children to school.

“If they can help us, we want government to come in. As you can see, this village is less than 3 kilometres from Kujama, yet we don’t have light, we don’t have school, we don’t have access to healthcare facilities and other basic amenities. We are paying our taxes as citizens.”

In their separate goodwill messages, the community leader, Chief Baba Dogo, his deputy, Chief Kasuwa Ataba and an elder statesman, Alhaji Musa Ali, chorused that they need helping hands from government, private establishments and individual to complement Mrs. Esther’s efforts.
