Politicians have been urged to always be connected with the grassroots so as to ensure workable synergy in developing their areas.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri gave the disclosure in Yola Wednesday while hosting the 226 ward chairmen and the local and state executive members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, reiterating on the importance of team work in the interest of the people.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) executives and other stalwarts were on a solidarity visit to the Governor at Government House, Yola.
Governor Fintiri emphasized that his successor must possess grassroots political expertise and a willingness to engage with the masses for the state’s betterment.
Governor Fintiri commended the party’s leadership under Barrister Tahir Shehu and urged quarterly meetings to strengthen the party.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the Edo gubernatorial election outcome, describing it as undemocratic, and pledged to remain committed to the PDP, urging party members to collaborate for the country’s salvation.
