The National Hydroelectric Power Producing Area Development Commission, (N-HYPPADEC) on Thursday in Makurdi, distributed over 90 Power Tillers to 24 cooperatives in Benue State.
State Coordinator, N-HYPPADEC, Mr Lee Ahenjir said the machines will help to boost agricultural production in the state.
He also said the power tillers will act as a hub which farmers in clusters can take advantage of to increase their yield.
“This will stop the trend of some individuals holding unto the machines as if it is their personal property”, Lee said.
The Managing Director, N-HYPPADEC Alh Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa lauded Governor Hyacinth Alia for his continued support towards initiatives that promote agricultural development and rural empowerment in the State.
