The management of the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Commission (N-HYPPADEC), has embarked on project management training for middle and top management staff to ensure standard and proper execution of projects.
Managing Director of N-HYPPADEC, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa made the disclosure at the five day project management of training workshop held in Minna, aimed at improving the roles of the management staff.
He emphasized the need for the training to equip the commission workforce on the prerequisites professional skills and knowledge especially the management cadre for effective and efficient service delivery to the communities of the N-HYPPADEC states.
Sadiq Yelwa charged the participants to be serious considering the crucial nature of the training to the benefits of the commission and their capacity, adding that one of the basic functions of N-HYPPADEC is to “conceive, plan and implement projects and programmes for the development of hydroelectric power producing areas.
According to him, “our team stands to encounter unpleasant working experience with contractors, especially in terms of designing realistic plans, mitigating risks, ensuring projects quality, budgeting projects cost and ensuring timely delivery”.
