The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has announced the successful completion of the 2026 selection and placement exercise into Federal Technical Colleges (FTCs), following the release of the results of the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE).
The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, Dr. Mohammed Mohammed, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday, directing candidates who participated in the entrance examination to check their admission status and commence registration.
According to him, the selection and placement exercise was conducted in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education (FME) and principals of Federal Technical Colleges, in line with the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening technical and vocational education through a transparent and merit-based admission process.
Mohammed said the exercise followed the successful conduct of the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination held on June 13 and was carried out strictly in accordance with approved admission guidelines to ensure fairness, transparency and equal opportunities for qualified candidates nationwide.
He advised candidates to check their admission status on the NABTEB website by visiting www.nabteb.gov.ng�, navigating to the Media Centre, and selecting FTC Admission Status.
The NABTEB Registrar added that candidates who experience difficulty accessing the online portal could also verify their admission status at any NABTEB office across the 36 states, the six geopolitical zones, or at the board’s national headquarters in Benin, Edo State.
Mohammed further announced that successful candidates would be able to print their notification of admission slips from the NABTEB e-world portal beginning Friday, July 24, 2026.
He explained that the notification slip serves as the official document required for candidates to report to their respective Federal Technical Colleges and obtain their admission letters.
The Registrar urged all admitted candidates to complete their registration within the stipulated period to secure their admission and avoid forfeiture of their placements.
He congratulated the successful candidates, describing their admission as the beginning of a journey towards acquiring practical, industry-relevant skills that would improve their employability and contribute to Nigeria’s economic and industrial development.
Mohammed also encouraged parents and guardians to support their children in taking advantage of the opportunities offered by Federal Technical Colleges, stressing that technical and vocational education remains essential to Nigeria’s industrialisation and economic transformation.
He reaffirmed NABTEB’s commitment to partnering with the Federal Ministry of Education and other stakeholders to promote quality, transparency and excellence in technical and vocational education through a credible, merit-driven admission process.
