NAESS exco urged to shun corruption

The newly elected executives of the national association of Edo State students (NAESS) has been urged to shun corruption not to derail its leadership.
A former Speaker of the association’s parliament, Comrade Meisaibi Tasiu gave the advice at the inaugural Ceremony of the group at the weekend in Benin City, Edo State.
The legal adviser of NAESS, Mr. Increase Izuwa who led the executives in oath-taking, delivered the public lecture titled: “The future of NAESS national history, why neglected by government and Edo State students welfarism” at the event.
He challenged leadership of association to be driven by innovation by initiating programmes that would positively impact on students and work within the framework of NAESS constitution.1 Izuwa urged to embrace dialogue in their undertaken particularly in crises resolution, adding that “if you do not sacrifice the interest of your members, when you speak to power, government will respect you”.
A 600 Level of Pharmacy student of University of Benin, Abdullahi Abdul Qadir has become the President of NAESS while Comrade Ikhine Emmanuel, a student of University of Calabar emerged the Speaker of the association, following their victory at the January 8, 2019 NAESS election held at the federal Polytechnic, Auchi in Edo State.
Comrade Amiekhamhe Adela, a student of federal Polytechnic, Auchi, was elected 1st Vice President, while Oerenighe Pretty – Light House Polytechnic emerged 2nd Vice President alongside Comrade Afiabor Sunday who is the Treasurer of the association.
A student of Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), Comrade Amieghemhen Gideon is the Financial Secretary while Comrade Ogbezuwa Alex, student of Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe, won the seat of Assistant Secretary General of the association. The executive has a nonrenewable tenure of one year.
