From Mika’il Tsoho, Dutse
The Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has officially signed the state’s Open Government Partnership (OGP) State Action Plan III (2026–2027), issuing an immediate directive to all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to prioritize its implementation.
Speaking at the signing ceremony at the Government House in Dutse on Monday, Governor Namadi emphasized that open governance is a core operational principle of his administration rather than a mere political promise.
“By signing this document, we are reaffirming that open government is not merely a policy aspiration but a guiding principle of our administration.
“I direct all responsible MDAs to accord it the highest priority and work collaboratively to ensure its successful delivery,” Namadi declared.
The governor noted that the SAP III framework aligns directly with his administration’s agenda to build transparent, accountable institutions responsive to public needs. He urged civil society organizations, development partners, traditional leaders, women, youth, and persons with disabilities to remain actively engaged during the implementation phase.
Presenting the document earlier, Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State OGP Steering Committee, Alhaji Aminu Usman, described the two-year roadmap as realistic, evidence-based, and designed for measurable impact.
He assured the governor that the steering committee would maintain strict oversight to keep implementation transparent and results-oriented.
