NANTMP asks FG for loan

The Board of Trustees Chairman of the National Association of Nigeria Traditional Medicine Practitioners (NANTMP), Dr. Adamu Shehu Bashir, has urged the Federal Government to give the loan being granted to the Association for so long now, so as to enable the executives to impact positively on the lives of the members.
He also charged the government of the day to grant financial incentives to the Association to enable the executives to carry out meaningful researches on the herbal medicine in the country.
Bashir said this during the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the association headed by its National President, calling on the government to partner with the leadership of NANTMP whenever the need arises to organize workshops / seminars to update their knowledge on the herbal medicine.
Speaking on the COVID-19 pandemic, he said already the NANTMP technical committee on the COVID-19 had setup for the cure and prevention of the deadly disease by using the traditional medicine formulae.
Speaking earlier, the National President of NANTMP, Dr. Shaba Maikudi, commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the radical steps being taken to declare stay-at-home order, closure of the entire nation’s airports as well as land boarders to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria.
He said the leadership of the association was satisfied with the way President Buhari was tackling the problem of Coronavirus in the country.
Maikudid, however, added that the authority of the association would continue to support the APC- led government in all ramifications, saying that the NEC would work in conjunction with Nigerian Centre for Diseases Control (NCDC) for the sake of upgrading the traditional medicine in the country.
On his part, the National Secretary General of the association, Dr. A. Kamarudeen, noted that COVID-19 had brought down the nation’s economy and the entire world at large, and urged Nigerians to pray for the nation as well to go back to the ancestral ways of life.
