Nasarawa 2027: SDP Adamu strengthens campaign structure with vehicles, motorcycles

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, Muhammad Abubakar Adamu, has moved to strengthen his campaign operations across the state with the distribution of motorcycles and vehicles to members of his campaign structure.

The former Inspector-General of Police distributed the motorcycles to ward coordinators and vehicles to the Director-General and other directorates of his campaign organisation during an event in Lafia.

The exercise came as Adamu concluded a medical outreach for pregnant women across the 147 wards of Nasarawa State under his M.A. Adamu Medicare for Renewed Hope Agenda Free Medical Outreach Programme.

Adamu said the campaign vehicles and motorcycles were intended to facilitate mobility and enable his campaign teams to effectively carry out their assignments at the grassroots ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

“For our staff in each ward, today we will give motorcycles so that it will help them carry out their tasks,” he said.

He added that vehicles had also been provided for the women’s wing, medical team, mechanics and other operational units.

“All of these are brought to help with the campaigns. If we continue, we will see other areas that need campaign items, which will also be provided,” he said.

The SDP candidate said the distribution was part of efforts to build an effective campaign structure across the state rather than limiting activities to the state capital.

The medical outreach, held in Lafia Local Government Area, marked the completion of the programme across all 147 wards in Nasarawa.

According to Adamu, about 100 pregnant women were selected from each ward to benefit from the initiative, which he said was aimed at assisting expectant mothers who could not afford some essential materials required for childbirth.

He said the selection was conducted without regard to political affiliation.

“In every ward, we have about 100 women and the criteria for selection is random. We don’t care which party you belong to; we don’t care which association you belong to, in as much as you’re pregnant and you’re from that ward, you’ll benefit from it,” he said.

Adamu said Lafia, with 13 wards, was the final local government area covered by the programme after similar outreaches had been conducted across the state.

The distribution of campaign logistics and the completion of the ward-by-ward outreach come as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 Nasarawa governorship election.
