The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has alleged a plan by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to rig the forthcoming election in the state.

State Chairman of the party, Mr Philip Tatari Shekwo made the allegation while briefing newsmen in Lafia the state capital, noting that the PDP in the state is sponsoring an organization known as Jonathan Shall Lead Again Movement (JOSLA-M) to rig elections on behalf of the PDP in the state.

Philip Tatari Shekwo maintained that the organization was using scientific method to achieve the objective.

According to the APC, report reaching the leadership of the party from various wards was that members of the said organization (JOSLA-M) were going about collecting details of voters’ cards from ignorant and unsuspecting voters who are being deceived to believe that personal loans will be given to them on strength of the information collected from them.

He pointed out that the method was employed by the PDP was meant to confuse the voters.

According to the state APC chairman, his party was seriously concerned about the tactic employed by the PDP to win election by all means, urging all security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to take prompt action in order to bring the perpetrators of the act to book.

However, in a swift reaction, the state PDP chairman, Chief Yunana Iliya said the allegation leveled against his party by the APC was baseless and untrue.

He made it clear that PDP is a party that believed in the rule of law and challenged the APC to prove its allegation beyond any reasonable doubt.
