Following the defection of the deputy governor of Nasarawa state, Dameshi Barau Luka,from the ruling APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mada people from Akwanga local government area paid a solidarity visit to Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura yesterday.
Led by their paramount ruler, the Chun Mada, Mr Samson Gamu Yare, the Mada leaders declared support for the APC administration when they visited the governor yesterday at the Government House.
The Mada leaders said that even though they visited Al-makura to show appreciation for the laudable development projects ongoing in their domains,they are not happy with the recent political developments.
“We are here to show appreciation to the Governor for the wonderful development projects in our area. We must identify with the APC administration because it is now that our people are experiencing true development”, the Chun Mada said.
Speaking on the defection of the deputy governor, a Mada son, the Mada paramount ruler maintained that politicians must find ways to resolve issues instead of over heating the polity.
Also speaking, a Mada elder, Madalla Kyeni, said that the action of the deputy governor does not reflect the wishes of the Mada nation insisting that Barau Luka acted on his own.
