The paramount ruler of Gbagyi nation in Nasarawa State, the Esu Karu, Pharmacist Luka Panya Baba, has advocated for the zoning of the governorship position of the state to the Northern Senatorial zone in 2019.
The Esu Karu who made the call when the state Deputy Governor, Hon. Silas Agara, paid him a traditional homage in his palace in Karu recently.
The Royal father maintained that the agitation for power shift to the Northern senatorial zone is timely and realistic to ensure power balance, equity and justice among the three senatorial zones that make up the state.
“The Northern zone is the only zone that has not been given the opportunity to govern the state and contribute to its development, hence the need to consider their interest in the state’s political calculation”, he said.
The paramount ruler further said every bonifide son and daughter of the state has a stake in its development and should be given the opportunity to do so at whatever capacity, irrespective of their religion, ethnicity and other inclinations.
The Deputy Governor, in his earlier remarks explained that the homage was to intimate the traditional ruler of his statewide consultations to seek for the position of the Governor and to solicit for his royal blessings.
