The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Keffi, Nasarawa State has called on the National Judicial Commission (NJC), to sanction justice Aisha Ahmed of the state election appeal tribunal.

Addressing reporters over the weekend, the party’s secretary, Alhaji Sani Mohammed faulted the judgment delivered on Keffi local government chairmanship petition by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), that upturned the victory of the PDP candidate and declared the APC candidate winner.

“We had doubt in the submission of the presiding judge for her utterances before the judgment at the court premises and her utter disregard for the rule of law because we believe her refusal to honor a court order urging her to exercise restrain over the same matter involving Keana local government, but still went ahead and deliver judgment in favor of APC.

“As a law abiding party and democrats, we took the verdict in good fate but wishes to register our regret that the presiding officer, Justice Aisha has not only destroyed the hope of the common man but regrettably destroyed the cause of justice and set a bad precedence.

Mohammed said this singular act has created doubt in the mind of many and has raised questions as to whether the judge has not derailed in her duty as the Chief Judge of the appeal tribunal.

“We want to use this medium to call on the National Judicial Commission NJC to sanction Justice Aisha Ahmed to serve as a lesson before she continues to cause more harm than good and damage the cause of justice in the country.
