Hon. Daniel Ogazi, a member of Nasarawa state House of Assembly has explained reason behind his support for the new Speaker of the House, Hon. Danladi Jatau.
Hon Ogazi had contested the seat against the recently sacked Speaker of the House, Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi.
He lost out because the state Governor, Engr Abdullahi Sule, backed the ousted Speaker in the contest.
Explaining why he did not contest the seat after it became vacant with the ousting of Balarabe, Hon. Ogazi said he could not go into the contest because the new Speaker supported his bid too.
According to him: “I am here with my entourage to rejoice and congratulate Hon. Danladi Jatau as the new Speaker of the House. This is what God has done for us in Kokona Local Government Area.
“You are all aware that I have contested for this position but when His Excellency, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule said all members should support Hon Jatau, I have also supported Hon Jatau to become the Speaker.
“When we are contesting for this position, Hon Jatau said if God has given me the position he will support me and that if God has given him the position I should support him, that is why I am here to register my support.” -Ogah Ogazi On Congratulatory Visit To Jatau At His Residence In Garaku.”
