NASS fracas, Jonathan’s plot to abort 2015 elections – Dawakin-Tofa

Date:

From Mustapha Adamu, Kano

Kano state gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Mu’azu Magaji Dawakin-Tofa, has averred that the onslaught on the national assembly by the Police is another plot to instigate political crises in the country in order to abort the forthcoming elections in 2015 by President Goodluck Jonathan.

Dawakin-Tofa, lamented that the development, which was trailed by nationwide uproar, has given a bad name to Nigeria in the committee of nations.

According to him, the action was intended to be used as alibi for the abortion of the upcoming 2015 general elections due to the much anticipated failure of President Goodluck to win the polls.

“I have earlier warned that we are fast moving into anarchy in this country, as President Jonathan’s growing acts of impunity in the build up to 2015 elections are unfolding clearly to everyone’s glare. The PDP wants to ensure that elections are not conducted at all cost because of the growing national consensus that the party will be on the losing end come 2015.” Dawakin-Tofa said.

Speaking to journalists in Kano on Tuesday, Dawakin-Tofa, described the action as gang-rape of the nation’s fledgling democracy by the trio of the Presidency, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Nigeria Police.

The gubernatorial hopeful advised members of the National Assembly to stay steadfast in defending the nation’s democratic independence, suggesting that, where necessary, they use their constitutional power to serve the President a deterrence being one who has been long overdue for impeachment.
