NASS pledges security support to Bauchi govt

The House of Representatives Committee on Army has promised to support the Bauchi State Government for its security measures towards ensuring the maintainance of peace and security in the state.
The Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Abdulrazak Namdas made the commendation when he led members of the committee to a courtesy visit to Governor Bala Mohammed at the Government House Bauchi.
Abdulrazak Namdas acknowledged the efforts of governor to tackle criminal activities in the state through various initiatives.
He appealed to the state government to support the committee for the security of the state and in the north east in general.
The Chairman of the Committee disclosed that the they were in the state as part of its oversight function to Nigerian Army formations in the state.
The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Muhammed Sabi’u Baba, who received the committee on behalf of Governor Bala Mohammed, identified youth restiveness and farmers/herders clashes as some of the challenges that required attention.
Sabi’u Baba said the governor, being the Chief Security Officer of the state, was working in close collaboration with security outfits to ensure the protection of lives and property of the citizens.
The Secretary to the State Government reaffirmed the determination of the present administration to consolidate on the achievements so far recorded in the security sector.
