NASS reconvenes, adjourns to mourn late Adedoyin

The National Assembly yesterday adjourned its sitting till Wednesday (today) to
mourn a member of the House Representatives, Funke Adedoyin who died on the 28th of September 2018.
The presiding officers of both chambers, Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara, while at the resumption of the first sitting after a long recess that lasted for about 11 weeks, said the adjournment was due to the death of a member of the House of Representatives, Funke Adedoyin from Kwara State.
Fifty four year old Adedoyin died of cancer complications on Friday 28th September, 2018 after battling with the disease since 2016.
Adedoyin was a former minister of Health during President Olusegun Obasanjo administration and Deputy Chairperson, House of Representatives committee on Army until her death.
Also announced on the floor of the green chamber is the death of the father of the House of Representatives chief whip, Alhassan Doguwa and the death of wife of Honourable Henry Ofongo from Bayelsa State.
Recall that the National Assembly embarked on a long recess on the 25th of July 2018 after the 2018 budget was accented to by President Muhammadu Buhari and before the Independent Nation Electoral Commission appropriations bill for the 2019 general election was sent to the two Chambers.
