Dr. Baba Muhammad has announced that all activities of the proposed National Commission for the Coordination and Control of the Proliferation of Small Arms, Ammunition, and Light Weapons in Nigeria remain suspended.
In a statement signed by the Coordinating Director of Human Resources for the proposed commission, Mr. David Olaitan, Dr. Baba reiterated that the commission has repeatedly warned that members of the public must not engage in any illegal activities that threaten the peace of Nigeria. Such offenders will be prosecuted according to the laws of the Federation.
Members of the commission across the country have also been cautioned multiple times to refrain from making comments, writing posts, or making unguarded statements on social media platforms regarding the commission and other government agencies while awaiting and praying for Presidential assent to the NATCOM Bill.
“Members of the public are also advised not to engage in any financial transactions of any kind with anyone on behalf of the proposed NATCOM, as the officials of the proposed commission are law-abiding and will remain so,” the statement added.
The statement further dissociated the proposed NATCOM and its proponent, Dr. Baba Muhammad, from any negative comments against government agencies on social media platforms.

Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon.
