NATCOM bill proponent cautions against divisive utterances

Date:

The proponent of the proposed National Commission for the Coordination and Control of the Proliferation of Small Arms, Ammunitions, Light Weapons, and Pipeline Vandalism in Nigeria (NATCOM), Dr. Baba Mohammed, FCNA, has reacted to various comments, reactions, messages, and posts on some social media platforms in response to the publication issued by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) to the President regarding the alleged illegal activities of certain individuals claiming affiliation with NATCOM.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the Coordinating Director of Human Resources of the proposed commission, Mr. David Olaitan, restated that Dr. Baba Mohammed is a staunch supporter of proper procedures, an adept administrator, and a law-abiding citizen.

As such, the statement categorically distances him from such remarks, reactions, and publications.

It cautions all self-proclaimed members of NATCOM and the general public against misrepresenting his character or the proposed NATCOM.

The statement further warns that anyone found engaging in such behavior will be subject to legal consequences and that Dr. Baba Mohammed holds the Office of the NSA in high regard and is committed to upholding its directives without exception.
