Dr Baba Mohammed, proponent of the Bill for the establishment of the National Commission for the Coordination and Control of the Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NATCOM), has called on Nigerians to embrace hope and resilience amid the nation’s current challenges.

In a Sallah message issued in Abuja, Dr Mohammed, who also holds the traditional title of Madaki of Ankpa, extended warm greetings to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, members of the Federal Executive Council, National Assembly, security chiefs and all Nigerians as the Muslim faithful celebrate Eid El Kabir.

He acknowledged the country’s economic and security difficulties, but reassured Nigerians that these problems are not beyond resolution.

Dr Mohammed expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s administration, stating that the president and his team are working round the clock to reform the economy and dismantle barriers to national growth.

The NATCOM proponent encouraged citizens to face the future with determination and optimism, affirming his belief that a better Nigeria is within reach.

He used the festive occasion to call on Muslims to extend kindness and generosity, particularly to the vulnerable in society, in line with the teachings of Eid El Kabir.

Touching on the yet-to-be-assented NATCOM Bill, Dr Mohammed expressed optimism that the commission’s establishment, which aligns with ECOWAS protocol, will bring strategic solutions to some of Nigeria’s pressing issues—especially in security, economic development, and youth empowerment.
