The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, has congratulated the Dangote Group on its Initial Public Offering, describing it as a significant development for Nigeria’s capital market.
Badejo-Okusanya, in a statement, said the IPO would boost investor confidence in the Nigerian economy while reaffirming the NBA’s support for legitimate investment and economic growth.
She commended the Dangote Group for its investments, job creation and expansion of productive capacity across key sectors of the economy.
The NBA president said long-term business investments were essential to building a stronger and more competitive economy.
“Nigeria’s economic transformation will not be driven by government alone.
“It requires businesses willing to invest, innovate, create jobs and build for the future,” she said.
Badejo-Okusanya said lawyers had a crucial role in creating an environment where businesses could thrive.
“Our role as lawyers is to help create and sustain the legal and institutional environment in which such enterprise can thrive,” she stated.
She reaffirmed the NBA’s commitment to the rule of law and an enabling business environment that encourages legitimate investments.
According to her, regulatory certainty and compliance were critical to strengthening confidence among businesses and investors.
She said lawyers could contribute to economic growth by providing sound legal frameworks and protecting legitimate commercial interests.
Badejo-Okusanya congratulated the management, employees, investors and other stakeholders of the Dangote Group.
