The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, has taken delivery of two new “Bell 206 Helicopters” to boost the training needs of its students.
The rector of the college, Capt. Sam Caulckric, made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Zaria, Kaduna State. Taking delivery of the helicopters at the college on Tuesday,
Caulckric said the choppers had been in the pipeline for a while. “We are happy today it has come to full operation and this is another chapter for us.
“The helicopters will certainly be used for training, 100 per cent, not for any other thing.
“It may interest you to note that we have more helicopter pilots in Nigeria because of the oil industry– since the country depends largely on oil,” he said.
Caulckric, who did not give the cost of the helicopters, said the college also procured additional simulators for effective students’ training.
While commending the efforts of the Federal Government for the procurement, the rector appealed for more of such to enable the college discharge its responsibilities diligently. (NAN)
